Definition[1]
:
Akṣobhya (Sanskrit). The ‘Immovable One’, one of the five Jinas, normally depicted iconographically as a blue, or sometimes white, saṃbhoga-kāya Buddha associated with the eastern quarter. He is also viewed as the embodiment of Mirror-like Awareness, one of the five awarenesses (pañca-jñāna), and as the lord of the Vajra Family (see five Buddha families). Early Mahāyāna devotion to Akṣobhya is associated with a belief in his Pure Land, known as Abhirati.
