āvenika Sutta
There are five special (āvenika) woes which a woman has to undergo as distinct from a man:
-
at a tender age she goes to her husband's family,
-
leaving her relations;
-
she is subject to menses;
-
to pregnancy;
-
to labour at child-birth;
-
and she has to wait upon a man. S.iv.239.
