Bilālidāyaka Thera

1. Bilālidāyaka Thera. An arahant. In the time of Padumuttara Buddha he was an ascetic in the Himālaya and offered the Buddha some bilāli tubers. Fifty four kappas ago he was a king called Sumekhali (Ap.i.145) (v.l. Sumelaya). He is probably identical with Kosalavihārī Thera. ThagA.i.134f.

2. Bilālidāyaka Thera. An arahant. Fifty four kappas ago he gave some bilāli tubers to a recluse at the foot of the mountain Romasa. Ap.i.232.
