Dictionary Definition :
Definition[1]
:
Buddhatrāta. The putative translator of the Yuan-chueh-ching (Sūtra of Perfect Enlightenment) but his historicity is doubted since it is generally accepted that this text was composed in China and his name does not seem to be found in connection with any other works.

Definition[2]
:
佛陀多羅 [py] Fótuóduōluó [wg] Fo-t'o-to-lo [ko] 불타다라 Pult'adara [ja] ブッダタラ Buddatara ||| Buddhatrāta, the name given in the colophon of the Sutra of Perfect Enlightenment 圓覺經 as its "translator." The facticity of this is questionable, since it seems fairly certain that the sutra was composed in China. Buddhatrāta's name also does not seem to be found in connection with any other texts.
