Cana ( -- ˚) [Vedic cana fr. rel. pron. *qṷo+demonstr. pron. *no, cp. anā, nānā; Gr. rh/; Lat. -- ne in quandone=P. kudācana. cana=Goth. hun, Ohg. gin, Ger. ir -- gen -- d. Cp. ci] indef. particle "like, as if," added to rel. or interrog. pronouns, as kiñcana anything, kudācana at any time, etc. Cp. ca & ci.
