Candanamālā

One of the residences occupied by the Buddha (SNA.ii.403).

It was in Sunāparanta and was built of red sandalwood at the instigation of Punna of Sunāparanta. When the work was completed Punna sent a flower as message to the Buddha, who came with five hundred monks and performed the ceremony of dedication before dawn (ThagA.i.158).

During the festival, the Buddha showed the Yamakapātihāriya (ThagA.i.312).  v.l. Candanasālā.
