chörten (Tibetan, mchod-rten). A reliquary or stūpa in Tibet. These structures proliferate wherever Tibetan Buddhism has been influential, and are considered to be an object for worship (pūjā), representing the mind of the Buddha or absolute reality (dharma-kāya).
