Dohaḷa [Sk. dohada & daurhṛda, of du+hṛd, sick longing, sickness, see hadaya. Lüders Gōttinger GelehrteNachrichten 1898, 1 derives it as dvi+hṛd] (a) the longing of a pregnant woman J iii.28, 333; DhA i.350; ii.139. -- (b) intense longing, strong desire, craving in general J ii.159, 433; v.40, 41; vi.263, 308; DhA ii.86 (dhammika d.).
