懈怠 [py] xièdài [wg] hsieh-tai [ko] 해태 haet'ae [ja] ケダイ kedai ||| (Skt. kauśīdya; Tib. le lo). Laziness, negligence, indolence, idleness. A mental action of not exhausting all of one's energy in the effort of cutting off evil and cultivating goodness. One of the six great defilements as listed in the Abhidharmakośa-bhāsya. One of the twenty secondary defilements suifannao 隨煩惱 in the doctrine of the Yogācāra 瑜伽行派 school.〔成唯識論T 1585.31.33b〕
