Definition[1]

Madhyamika. Founded by Nagarjuna, this Buddhist school of thought is one of the four principal philosophical schools of Buddhism. Existence that is produced by causes, this school teaches, is empty or vacuous. It has no reality at all. Neither can one be wise till one understands this basic truth, nor can nirvana be reached until everything that brings about such vacuous existence is extinguished.
