Paccanīkasāta. A brahmin of Sāvatthi, to whom the Buddha refused to preach (see Paccanīa Sutta). Buddhaghosa says (SA.i.205) that the Brahmin was so called ("Gainsayer") because he took delight in opposing everything that anyone else said.
