Punkhagāma
A village in the Dakkhinadesa of Ceylon, where Mānābharana lived under the name of Virabāhu (Cv.lxi.26) and where Parakkamabāhu I. was born (Ibid., lxxii.18). Parakkamabāhu subsequently erected there the Sūtigharacetiya, one hundred and eighty feet high, on the site of the house in which he was born. Ibid., lxxix.61.
