Sahor

Also known as Zahor in Tibetan sources. A small kingdom in early medieval India, mentioned in some tantric sources as one of the places where Buddhist tantras were first revealed or compiled. The precise location of this country is debatable and some conflation with Oḍḍiyāna seems to have occurred as both countries are said to have been ruled by a King Indrabhūti. It may have been located somewhere in present-day West Bengal or Orissa. According to Tibetan sources, Atiśa came from Sahor, and elsewhere West Bengal is given, which strengthens the identification between the two regions.
