śraddhā-anusārin (Skt,; Pāli, saddhā-anusārin). ‘One who follows in faith’. According to the early teachings, the Noble Path (ārya-mārga) may be entered and its fruit attained in a variety of ways. The śraddhā-anusārin is the first in a sevenfold list of noble persons (ārya-pudgala) who enter the Noble Path through a range of dispositions. The śraddhā-anusārin is distinguished by the fact that he attains the path through the basis of the faculty of faith (śraddhā), in contrast to the Dhammānusārī (Sanskrit, Dharma-anusārin), who attains it through intellectual understanding of the Dharma.
