Tudati [Vedic tudati; *steud, enlarged fr. *steu, cp. Lat. tundo, tudes (hammer); Goth. stautan, Ohg. stozan (to push), E. stutter, Nhg. stutzen; Ags. styntan=E. stunt] to strike with an instrument; to prick, peck, pierce; to incite, instigate J iii.189 (=vijjhati).
