The seven atoms composing an anu 阿耨; 阿拏, 阿菟色. Eitel's definition is seven atoms of dust, but the definition is doubtful. This molecule is larger than an "atom" , and according to the Sarvāstivāda it is the smallest visible particle. It is also a division of a yojana.

(術語)依一切有部宗所說,則雖欲界之有形質中最為單簡者,亦稱為八事俱生,隨一不減,能造之地水火風四大與所造之色香味觸四境互相和融,而成一微體。此八事不得更為分離,是為色聚之最極者,故名之為微聚,又曰極微。此極微六方中,心與七微,聚集而始為天眼等之所見。謂之阿菟色Anu,又曰阿拏色,又曰阿耨,譯言微。此非至極微,則不與以極之名,但是眼可見之色之極少者,又分析之色之細極者,則亦曰極微。大日經疏一曰:「梵云阿耨,即是七微合成,於從緣生色最為微小。」唯識了義燈二本曰:「有宗云:以七極微成一拏色。」俱舍光記十二曰:「七極微為一微量,微顯細聚,梵云阿菟,此名微,眼見色中最微細也。」【參見: 極微】
