（人名）佛之姨母，梵名摩訶波闍波提Maha%praja%pati^，乳養佛者。由阿難之請。始許出家。是比丘尼之初也。別號憍曇彌Gotami^，如佛言為瞿曇。法華文句二曰：「波闍波提，此翻大愛道，亦云憍曇彌，此翻眾生。」此翻誤也，眾主乃波闍波提也。
