斷見 [py] duànjiàn [wg] tuan-chien [ko] 단견 tangyŏn [ja] ダンケン danken ||| (uccheda-drsti). (1) "Nihīism." the mistaken view that results from not discerning the principle of cause and effect that centers on the idea that the world or oneself can be destroyed; for example, the idea that once a being dies, there is not future rebirth, or that life is something limited to this world, and therefore the nihīistic view of denying the reception of the fruits of good and evil acts. (2) The destruction of mistaken views.
堅持人死之後身心斷滅不復再生的偏見,是五惡見之一。
ucchedadarśana; the view that death ends life, in contrast with 常見 that body and soul are eternal—both views being heterodox; also world-extinction and the end of causation.
梵語 uccheda-drsti,巴利語 uccheda-ditthi。又稱斷滅論。二見之一。為「常見」之對稱。即偏執世間及我終歸斷滅之邪見。蓋諸法之因果各別亦復相續,非常亦非斷,執斷見者則唯執於一邊,謂無因果相續之理,世間及我僅限於生之一期,死後即歸於斷滅。主張此等斷見者,如富蘭那迦葉即謂無善、無惡,亦無善惡之報,被稱為斷見外道,屬外道十六宗之一。倡虛無主義者,亦屬斷見之一例。
所謂斷常二見,係概括而言外道之種種偏見。據大毘婆沙論卷二○○所載,諸惡見趣雖有多種,皆不出有見、無有見二見之中;有見即指常見,無有見即指斷見。以此二見皆為邊見,故釋尊主張離常、離斷,而取中道。又據大智度論卷二十六載,斷見有二種,一謂無後世受罪福苦樂之果報,一謂一切法皆空,即墮於空見者。對於此等邊見,經論中多主張以空觀對治之,如成實論卷十邊見品謂正修習空,則無我見,以滅我見,遂斷二邊。〔雜阿含經卷三十四、北本大般涅槃經卷二十七、大毘婆沙論卷四十九、卷七十七、瑜伽師地論卷七、卷五十八、佛性論卷一破外道品、成唯識論卷六〕(參閱「六十二見」1241、「斷滅論」6565)
即「斷滅的觀念」,如認為「人死後塵歸塵,土歸土,一無所有」的觀念。
論云:見五眾滅,即外道自謂色受想行識今世滅已更不再生,是名斷見。
謂不知諸法本性空寂,常住不壞,而反起斷滅之見,妄計此身死已不復更生,是為斷見。
謂眾生於五陰之身,妄計今世滅已,更不再生,則成斷滅,是名斷見。
