Sarvāstivāda; the school of the reality of all phenomena, one of the early Hīnayāna sects, said to have been formed, about 300 years after the Nirvāna, out of the Sthavira; later it subdivided into five, Dharmaguptāh, Mūlasarvāstivādāh, Kaśyapīyāh, Mahīśāsakāh, and the influential Vātsīputrīyāh. v. 一切有部. Its scriptures are known as the 有部律; 律書; 十誦律; 根本說一切有部毘那耶; (根本說一切有部尼陀那) 有部尼陀那; (根本說一切有部目得迦) 有部目得迦; 根本薩婆多部律攝 or 有部律攝, etc.
