乃半開而即將盛開之蓮華。「未敷蓮華合掌」則係密教基本印母十二合掌之一，呈現蓮華未開而將開之形，作二掌相合而中虛空且稍穹窿狀，又稱未開蓮合掌、如來開蓮合掌。（參閱「十二合掌」336）
