謂不生不滅之本際，即指人人本有之自性清淨心。大日經疏卷一（大三九‧五八九下）：「本不生際者，即是自性清淨心。自性清淨心即是阿字門。」大日經疏卷七（大三九‧六五一下）：「不生際是萬法之本，（中略）若見本不生際者，即是如實知自心；如實知自心即是一切智智。」（參閱「阿字本不生」3615）
