法住記 The Fazhuji, which is a translation by Xuanzang (in 654) of the Nandimitrāvadāna (T 2030.49.12-15). This is an abbreviation of the full title Da aluohan nantimiduoluo suoshuo fazhuji 大阿羅漢難提蜜多羅所説法住記. One fascicle, by Nandimitra（transcribed as 難提蜜多羅, translated as 慶友); also known as the 大阿羅漢難提蜜多羅所説法住偈, the 大阿羅漢難陀蜜多羅法住記, and 記法住傳. The main focus of this text is to explain the notion of the sixteen arhats 十六羅漢 who remain in the world to protect the correct dharma. It also teaches that the stay of Śākyamuni in this world is finite, and how the members of the sangha are to continue the spread of the dharma in his stead.

梵名 Nandimitrāvadāna。全一卷。全稱大阿羅漢難提蜜多羅所說法住記。難提蜜多羅（梵 Nandimitra，意譯慶友）著，唐代玄奘譯。收於大正藏第四十九冊。又作大阿羅漢難提蜜多羅所說法住偈、大阿羅漢難陀蜜多羅法住記、記法住傳。全書列舉護持正法十六大阿羅漢，並敘說釋迦法住世之時限。即敘述佛陀入滅後八百年，師子國（即錫蘭，今斯里蘭卡）勝軍王之都，有阿羅漢名難提蜜多羅，即將入滅，集諸比丘、比丘尼等，為說十六大阿羅漢及其眷屬名稱與住處。並答諸比丘、比丘尼等所問正法住世之時限。本書譯於唐永徽五年（654），譯出之後，我國對十六羅漢之崇拜逐漸普遍，並有根據書中之敘述，而繪畫或雕塑十六羅漢像。本書係研究錫蘭佛教之珍貴史料。
　本書有西藏譯本，然其內容與本書頗有出入。一九一六年，法國學者萊維（S. Lévi）、沙畹（E. Chavannes）兩人曾合譯本書為法譯本，並附評解刊行之。民國十九年（1930），馮承鈞以語體文譯出本書，題為「法住記及所說阿羅漢考」，由尚志學會叢書刊行。〔大唐內典錄卷五、大周刊定眾經目錄卷十、至元法寶勘同總錄卷十〕
