「界內」之對稱。即指欲界、色界、無色界等三界外之國土。三界乃凡夫生死往來之世界,於此三界外,尚有諸佛菩薩之淨土,此即稱為界外。法華經卷二譬喻品(大九‧一三下):「以佛教門,出三界苦;怖畏險道,得涅槃樂。」〔大智度論卷九十三〕
