色界十七天 The seventeen dhyāna heavens of the form realm 色界. The first three dhyanas have three heavens each, whīe the fourth has eight heavens. The heavens of the first dhyāna 初禪天 are: 1) fanzhongtian 梵衆天 Brahma-pāriṣadhya, the Heaven of Brahma's Councilors; 2) fanfutian 梵輔天 Brahma-purohita, the Heaven of Brahma's High Priests; and 3) dafantian 大梵天 Mahābrahman, Brahma's heaven. The heavens of the second dhyāna 二禪天 are: 1) 少光天 Parītta-ābha, the Heaven of Lesser Light; 2) 無量光天 Apramāṇa-ābha, the Heaven of Infinite Light; and 3) 極光淨天 ābhās-vara, the Heaven of the Most Brilliant Purity. The Heavens of the third dhyāna 三禪天 are: 1) 少淨天 Parītta-śubha, the Heaven of Lesser Purity; 2) 無量淨天 Apramāṇa-śubha, the Heaven of Infinite Purity; and 3) bianjingtian 遍淨天 'Subha-kṛitsna, the Heaven of Universal Purity. The fourth dhyāna 四禪天 heavens are: 1) 無雲天 Anabhraka, the Cloudless Heaven; 2) fushengtian 福生天 Puṇya-prasava, the Heaven of Merit Production; 3) guangguotian 廣果天 Bṛihat-phala, the Heaven of Extensive Rewards, 4) wufantian 無煩天 Abṛiha, the heaven of no anxieties; 5) wuretian 無熱天 Atapa, the heaven without afflictions; 6) shanxiantian 善現天 Sudṛiśa, the Heaven of Good Appearances; 7) shanjiantian 善見天 Sudarśana, the Heaven of Good Sight; and 8) sejiujingtiantian 色究竟天Akaniṣṭha, the Heaven of Ultimate Form.
