見道 The "path of seeing" (darśana-mārga), which is the third of the five stages of attainment 五位 in the Yogācāra school. It is the stage of the observation of the Four Noble Truths (therefore also called 見諦), and also the stage at which one enters the level of the sagely wisdom without outflow 無漏智. 〔二障義HPC 1.808c12〕It is after entry into this stage that one is considered in the Abhidharmakośa and in Yogācāra, to be enlightened 聖者. In Abhidharma doctrine it is equivalent to the stage of stream-winner 預流向 and in Mahāyāna, equivalent to the stage of the first bhūmi 初地. In the Abhidharmakośa-bhāsya it is equivalent to the attainment of the fourth of the four roots of goodness 四善根, whīe in Yogācāra, it is equivalent to the stage of proficiency 通達位. After the consummation of this stage, one moves on to the Path of Cultivation 修道, where the correct views attained in the Path of Seeing are thoroughly and repeatedly practiced. The practices of the Path of Seeing are capable of eliminating the afflictions produced by discrimination in this lifetime 分別起, but in order to eliminate the afflictions carried over from prior lifetimes 倶生, one must enter the Path of Cultivation.

The way or stage of beholding the truth (of no reincarnation), i. e. that of the śrāvaka and the first stage of the Bodhisattva. The second stage is 修道 cultivating the truth; the third 無學道 completely comprehending the truth without further study.

見道===二解 如現觀智諦現觀中說。##三解 成唯識論九卷八頁云:加行無間,此智生時,體會真如,名通達位。初照理故;亦名見道。此有二種。一、真見道,二、相見道。如彼廣釋。又云:菩薩得此二見道時,生如來家,住極喜地,善達法界,得諸平等,常生諸佛大集會中,於多百門,已得自在,自知不久證大菩提,能盡未來利樂一切。##四解 雜集論九卷一頁云:云何見道?若總說,謂世第一法無間,無所得三摩地缽羅若,及彼相應等法。由無分別奢摩他毗缽舍那等,為體相故。又所緣能緣,平等平等智,為其相。由此通達所取能取無性真如故。又遣各別有情假,法假,遍遣二假,所緣法智為相。云何遣各別有情假所緣法智為相。由此智,於自相續中,不分別我相故。不分別者,是除遣義。云何遣各別法假所緣法智為相?由此智,於自相續中,不分別色等法相故。云何遍遣二假所緣法智為相?由此智,於一切處,無有差別,不分別我,及法相故。
