四戒科
There are four classifications of every precept:
1. Precept Law ( 戒法 ) - all the precepts laid down by Śākyamuni Buddha, e.g. not to kill, not to steal.
2. Precept substance( 戒體 ) - those 'not-to-do' precepts.
3. Precept Behavior ( 戒行 ) - the precept dogma in accord with the conditions, which are upheld through the body, mouth and mind.
4. Precept characteristic ( 戒相 ) - precepts upheld by the seven assemblies, such as the Five Precepts, the Ten precepts, etc.
