梵語 dharmacaksu-viśuddha。指具有觀見真理等諸法而無障礙、疑惑之眼。又作淨法眼、清淨法眼。吉藏之維摩經略疏卷四謂,小乘於初果見四聖諦之理,大乘於初地得「真無生法」,均稱為法眼淨。據大毘婆沙論卷六十六載,於見道以前尚未完全斷惑,或斷除欲界五品之惑而入見道者,生法眼淨,得預流果;斷除欲界第六第七品之惑者,生法眼淨,得一來果;斷除欲界九品乃至斷除無所有處之惑者,生法眼淨,證不還果。其中所說之法眼異於五眼中之法眼,五眼中之法眼,相當於大乘之法眼淨,唯菩薩有之,係二乘之人所無;又小乘之法眼乃初果見四諦法者所具,而大乘之法眼則於初地得真無生法者始有。經中常載有佛陀說法,令諸長者、天人、外道等遠離塵垢,證得法眼淨之事蹟,如雜阿含經卷十五(大二‧一○四上):「爾時,世尊說是法時,尊者憍陳如及八萬諸天遠塵離垢,得法眼淨。」〔法華經卷七、無量壽經卷下、四分律卷三十二、注維摩詰經卷一〕
