指釋種之婦女。據增一阿含經卷二十六載，昔流離王征服釋種，並選五百釋女充實宮闈，釋女憤恚，怨言不遜，王聞之而怒，遂令群臣斷釋女手足擲深坑中。時諸釋女受其刑罰，含苦稱佛，佛陀愍其哀苦，乃與諸比丘共來為釋女宣說微妙法，諸釋女聞佛教誨，心開意解，遠離塵垢，得法眼淨，同時命終，俱生天上。〔大唐西域記卷六室羅伐悉底國
