Teachings of Amitabha explains the scriptures written by Master Shandao, a Buddhist master who lived during the Tang Dynasty in China and is revered in East Asia as an incarnation of Amitabha Buddha. It focuses particularly on the Commentary of the Contemplation Sutra, which outlines the teachings of the Pure Land school of Buddhism. Grounding his teachings in the three Pure Land sutras preached by Shakyamuni Buddha, Master Shandao urged practitioners to aspire to rebirth in the Land of Bliss by reciting the name of Amitabha Buddha exclusively.
